Love Without Limits

“When you …, then I will love you.”

“I will love you if …”

“You have to earn my love.”

We have all been on the receiving end of statements like this, whether they were spoken out loud or quietly implied. But Jesus’ love is completely different.  Others warned that his association with certain people made him look bad, but he cared about the person more than his own image.  He wasn’t embarrassed by anyone, and he didn’t require them to complete a checklist in order to be counted worthy of his love. The same is true for you!

What are some ways you have been trying to earn love?

Academic performance?

Outward appearance?

Material possessions?

Pray

Dear God in heaven, I am so glad I don’t have to hide anything from you, and I’m so glad I don’t have to prove my worth to you.  You know me inside and out, and you love me.  Thank you for being gracious to me.  Help me put my faith in you alone.  In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
